This is the first printing of the first edition of this scarce B.B. title. All pages are present and correct with no inscriptions. Book sits solid and square with all corners sharp. Silver title lettering remains sharp and definite. Complete with chapter headings and twelve full page enigmatic black and white scraperboard style illustrations by D.J. Watkins-Pitchford. Anyone, whether they live in the town or country, with a deep affection for all that is rural and rustic will take this beautifully written and illustrated book to their heart. A unique and moving story by the very original and unique B.B. Housed in the colourful dustwrapper, designed again by the author, with publishers printed price intact on front inside flap. Very light wear and signs of handling with one small hairline tear to the rear flap fold which due to the position remains discreet. A lovely and presentable example of the beautiful dustwrapper which is very scarce surviving in this condition. Now protected in a removable archival booksleeve to preserve its condition. Photographs of the book and the dustwrapper are available on request. Quite simply a beautiful, well preserved copy and a desirable acquisition for the avid B.B. enthusiast or collector..
