Very Good. 1994 first edition, Gallups Island Radio Association (Paducah, Kentucky), 8 3/4 x 11 1/4 inches tall pictorial hardbound, no dust jacket (as issued), copiously illustrated with vintage black-and-white photographs, 208 pp. Minor soiling, rubbing and edgewear to covers. Name of prior owner (whose account from Platoon R-73 is included at pp. 139-40) in embossed gilt lettering to the lower margin of the front cover. Otherwise, apart from very slight marginal age toning, a very good copy - clean, bright and unmarked. ~E~ A history of the radio operators' school run during World War II at Gallups Island, located in what is now the Boston Harbor Islands National Recreation Area, situated between Georges Island and Long Island and just over 6 miles from downtown Boston. Later a school for military bakers and cooks was added.
