Moderate wear to edges; front gutter is cracked and front board is completely loose. Glue showing through on pastedowns. Text block has moderate foxing and light dampstaining to first 30 pages. Overall Fair. Earlier editions of this publication were titled "Statistics of the West" (1836) and "Notes on the Western States" (Howes). This revised edition included a considerable amount of new matter concerning the area between the Mississippi and Ohio Rivers. Topics include the prairies, wildlife and agriculture of the Midwest.
