Description

1958 Blue boards have a thin black line at the bottom, Mylar covered dust jacket, no obvious edge tears. Usual library marks, A few black magic marker marks. Stated first edition. Slight lean forward. Content: This is a story of intrigue, of hard hitting action. The Union Pacific Railroad was pushing its tracks across the west. Back East were the plotters, crooked financiers, grafting politicians. The Secretary of the Interior himself was suspected of smuggling guns to the Indians. At each new outpost was a lawless mob ready to follow anyone who promised violence. A tough Yankee, Claypool, took up the fight for the railroad. He didn't always fight clean, but was said to have a sense of honor. He had two allies: Miss Rennie, a beauty who delibertely disguised her charms, and Rory, an Irish lad whose eyes and ears were usually where they didn't belong. ; Ex-Library.
