About This Item
New York: Derrydale Press, 1939. xviii,200; x,192 pp. Two volumes. Quarto. Original gilt lettered red cloth. Boards slightly soiled. Spine slightly darkened. Coloured frontis in each volume. 105 black and white plates. Lacking the folding map of British Columbia ( most often found wanting) #819/950. A better than normal copy of this fine press edition. Cave A 21. Most of Haig-Browns books were issued in trade editions but this title first came out in the Derrydale Press edition which was very grand and printed on hand made paper. There is a much less interesting trade edition printed in 1947. 1939
