ca 1893 hardcover as pictured. A nicely done volume discussing skilled occupations open to women at the turn of the last century by noted journalist Martha Woodworth Raynes. Also includes many illustrations and selections of prose and poetry by women authors. Binding is intact. Maroon cloth boards with black and gold stamping are rubbed and soiled with light edge wear. Decorative endpapers with tape reinforced hinges. Front hinge is lightly cracked. Head and tail bands. Edges of text block marbled. Text is lightly tanned but appears otherwise clean and unmarked.
