Pages have mild tanning and foxing throughout, moderate at end-papers, paste-downs and text-block edges. Removal of front free end paper has left the end paper ripped and binding materials visible. Hinges are cracked with exposed netting. Some occasional mild cracking to gutters throughout, binding is shaky. Boards have moderate edge-wear with bumping to corners and rubbing to surfaces. Cloth has moderate damp and dust stains. Mild crushing to spine ends. Book has a slight forward lean.

Spine is still solid however and boards are firm though tips a little mushy.Soiling to text block top and small spotting on text block edges. Slight wear to covers and tanning to endpapers. Labels glue remains on back of front free endpaper otherwise, internally clean however has previous owner's signature. Jacket has been cut up and mounted on construction paper! Spine almost complete gone with no back flap. Hannes Bok artwork is in good condition. Placeholder copy..

The personal copy of science fiction author Chad Oliver with his stamp on the front endpaper, additionally signed by de Camp on the front endpaper. Near Fine in a Very Good jacket designed by Hannes Bok, unclipped ($3.00), toned at the edges, some chips at the head and foot of the spine. Orange buckram, faintly rubbed, with black ink lettering on the spine. Square and firmly bound, a few stains at the top edge, clean internally. A collection of de Camp's stories, praised by P. Schyuler Miller as representing "de Campian whimsy and reverse plot-twists.
