New York, Harper & Row, 1963 Hardcover, First edition , first issue, no dustjacket. The scarce First edition with Library of Congress Catalog card number 63-21253 no further additions. Sendak's wonderful story and illustrations of Max and the Wild Things. A Good to Fair copy with wear to edges and handling marks to covers, corners bumped and rubbed, Slightly faded colours to covers. With previous owners name and 'This Book belongs to' written on title page. Not prestine condition but a scarce item . Pictures available.
Synopsis
Where the Wild Things Are is a 1963 children's picture book by American writer and illustrator Maurice Sendak, originally published by Harper & Row. The book has been adapted into other media several times, including an animated short, a 1980 opera, and, in 2009, a live-action feature film adaptation. According to HarperCollins, the book has sold over 19 million copies worldwide as of 2008.
