About This Item

London: Martin Secker , 1911. Cloth. Good. 7.5" by 5" . None . The second impression of this sought-after anthology of ghost stories by Oliver Onions, scarce in all editions. This anthology notably features the psychological horror novella 'The Beckoning Fair One,' known as one of the best tales in its genre; and the story 'Rooum' , concerned with an engineer haunted by a mysterious entity.Other stories generally deal with the connection between creativity and insanity, and the concept of time and identity shifts. With half title and two leaves of publisher's advertisements to rear. In the original publisher's full cloth binding. Externally a trifle worn with shelf wear, chipped to head and tail of spine and extremities, front joint starting, boards holding firm; headband may detach with further handling. Front endpapers excised. Internally, firmly bound. Light minor spotting scattered to first few leaves. Pages otherwise bright and clean. Good
