About Wonder Book Maryland, United States

Biblio member since 2003
Seller rating: This seller has earned a 4 of 5 Stars rating from Biblio customers.

With 3 stores less than 1 hour outside the DC/Metropolitan area (1 in Gaithersburg, 1 in Frederick and 1 in Hagerstown, MD), we have the largest selection of books in the tri-state area. Wonder Book and Video has been in business since 1980 and online since 1997. We have over 1 Million books for sale on our website and another 1 Million books for sale in our 3 locations. We have a very active online inventory and as such, we can receive multiple orders for the same item. We fill those orders on a first come first serve basis, but will refund promptly any items that are out of stock. Since 1980 it has always been about the books. ALL kinds of books from 95 cent children\'s paperbacks to five figure rare and collectibles. A merging of the old and new is where we started, and it is where we are today. Our retail stores have always been places where a reader can rush in looking for a title needed for a term paper that is due the next day, or where bibliophiles can get lost \"in the stacks\" for as long as they wish. In 2002 USAToday recognized us as \"1 of 10 Great Old Bookstores\", and we have been featured in numerous other newspaper and TV stories including Washington Post and CSpan.

About the author

Born in Columbus in 1991, Lindsay Dale-Scott made her mark on the illustration industry after encouragement from both parents to pursue a creative career. While studying graphic design and illustration at Columbus College of Art and Design, she earned an award for her advertising campaign for the sloth sanctuary (she loves sloths!) of Costa Rica. She gained local, regional, and national recognition with the American Advertising Awards, "The Addy's." Lindsay describes her work as whimsical with a soft, sophisticated touch, drawing inspiration from classic Disney artist Mary Blair. Vintage posters, folk and fairy tales, and things that are a bit quirky also inspire her. She currently resides in Cleveland with her husband, two bunnies Sam and Pepper, a teddy bear named Toby, and a long-haired Dachshund named Violet. She enjoys living outside the city but is always keen to make trips into the city and other towns for inspiration.

Courtney Acampora holds a B.A. in art history from San Diego State University and a M.A. from the University of Arizona. Currently working in publishing, Courtney's lifelong love for both art and books fused together and gave her the opportunity to write and create engaging books for kids. Courtney lives in San Diego, California.

Maggie Fischer is originally from Oregon, but now lives in Seattle, Washington, after receiving her B.A. in English from Gonzaga University. The daughter of a children's librarian, Maggie has grown up surrounded by books and feels impossibly lucky to write and edit books for kids. She spends her time trying not to get worried about the increasing number of crows in her backyard, petting her enormous cat, Finch, and drinking more coffee than is probably healthy.
