About the author

Kenneth Grahame was a Scottish writer, most famous for The Wind in the Willows, one of the classics of children's literature. He also wrote The Reluctant Dragon; both books were later adapted into Disney films.

Born in London in 1931, Kincaid studied illustration and design at Gravesend School of Art, where Peter Blake was a contemporary and Quentin Crisp one of the life models. In 1971, he was offered the chance to fulfill his true ambition, to illustrate child
