Winesburg, Ohio: A Group of Tales of Ohio Small-Town Life was published in 1919. This book is Sherwood Anderson's most well-known, and it is now considered one of the earliest examples of Modernist literature. The book is a short story cycle, a collection of 22 stories that all take place in the fictional Winesburg, Ohio.
