About This Item

Jonathan Cape, London, 1922. Book. Very Good. Hardcover. 1st Edition. The first UK edition (first printing) of the author's most celebrated book, which was issued three years earlier in the US. 8vo. 303pp. Blue cloth lettered in black at the spine and upper board. Spine ends gently rubbed and the top edge dust soiled. A tiny bump impacts the fore edge of the first four leaves, leaving a miniscule indentation. A very good copy. No dust wrapper. The subtitle of this English edition differs from that of the US issue, which was "A Group of Tales of Ohio Small Town Life". A short story sequence, and the author's most enduring achievement. Sheehy & Lohf 10..
