About This Item
Wien, Strassburg, Munich, and St. Louis: Herdersche Verlagshandlung, 1904. xi, 187 pages. The text is in German. Edges of textblock are marbled. Joseph Braun was a Jesuit priest and archaeologist. This book was a s seminal work on liturgical garments and textiles that is still considered a standard work in the field. The book is clean and tight. Ex-library but with no external markings; small stamps for the former boarding school Huize Ruwenberg on half-title and title pages; attractive library bookplate inside front cover. Some relatively minor condition issues: bumping to edges of boards; head and foot of spine bumped with minor chipping of cloth; joints rubbed, with 1 1/2" tear in cloth at top of rear joint; light foxing and toning to pages. The condition of the book is much nicer than it sounds!. First Edition. Hardcover. Collectible-Good+/No Dust Jacket, as Issued. 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall. Book.
