Some minor foxing to the fore edge but not affecting the open pages. A fine copy in publishers decorative blue cloth boards which are fully illustrated and lettered in black, yellow, white and light blus to fropnt board and spine. Rear board with smaller illustration and lettering in black and white.Some minor white spotting to the lower board at very bottom and on lower half of the hinge. In the rare original dustwrapper which reproduces the boards and spine in black on blue paper. One small piece (0.5 x 0.4 inch) missing from the top of the spine, not affecting the lettering,and strengthened with archive tape to the reverse of the top of spine but overall in superb condition. Children's books of this vintage are uncommon in any dustwrapper but to find one in such good condition is rare indeed.:

A fine and bright copy in publishers grey/green paper covered boards with a colour onlay to the front panel, above a simple ruled design. Clogs and Arrow-joined hearts within the lines and both the spine and front panel are lettered, all in white. Fine. A rare suvivor in such wonderful condition.:

Illustrated with 8 fine full colour plates plus 18 black and white line illustrations throughout the text. A very good, bright and clean copy. Publishers beige boards with colour plate mounted to front panel. Beige cloth spine lettered in dark brown. In the rare original colour printed dustwrapper. Aside from some minor bumping to the corners of the boards and a few small chips to edges of the dustwrapper (the worst chip, at the bottom of the spine, just shaves off the top of the J in the title) this is a lovely copy of this scarce title.

Bell & Daldy. London. 1873. REPRINT. Originally published in 1855. 8vo. (8 x 5.6 inches). Illustrated throughout with decorative head and tail pieces plus frontis and fifteen full page plates, each with a plain paper guard. Neat previous owners 3 line inscription (dated 1876) on the half title. Some minor spotting to a few pages but generally a clean and bright copy in the publishers highly decorative green cloth binding with bevelled edged boards. Elaborate gilt and blind stamped decoration and lettering to the front board. The rear board with a blind stamped decorative panel pattern. Spine fully decorated and lettered in gilt. Off white endpapers. All edges gilt. Some bumping to the extremities and the spine a little dulled but overall a very good copy of this pretty book. A classic piece of decorative Victoriana.

Illustrated with 12 full page colour plates and line drawings around the text pages opposite each plate, plus illustrated title page, all by Anderson. A little browning to the blank endpapers and a neat previous owner name on the front free endpaper, otherwise a very good, clean copy in the publishers grey cloth covered boards. Full colour illustrated onlay to the front board and green line border, decoration and lettering. Blue cloth spine lettered in dark blue. Aside from some darkening to the plain spine and minor rubbing to the extremities this is a very good copy. The book is undated but the British Library catalogue gives the publication date as 1915.

Chatto & Windus. London.,1935. Reprint. Small 4to.(9.3 x 7 inches). 27 full colour plates, each with a page of text opposite. Small area of loss to the bottom corner of one page and a few pages with tears into the margins, without any loss to the page. Overall a very good clean copy which has recently been finely bound in leather. Full blue morocco, spine with raised bands, ruled and lettered in gilt. Boards with gilt ruled borders. Front board lettered in gilt. Marbled endpapers. All edges gilt. Overall a very good, attractively bound copy.:

Illustrated with 16 full page colour plates, 6 full colour and 10 printed in orange, black and grey, plus several hundred fine line drawings, many within the text and a few printed in red and black. A very good copy in publishers paper covered boards with colour illustration mounted to front cover within a printed border, below black lettering. Grey cloth spine with lettering and decoration in black. Some rubbing to the corners and a little fraying to the cloth but overall a very good copy of this beautifully illustrated book.

Hodder & Stoughton. London. No date. (1924). NEW EDITION. Small 4to. (9.6 x 6.7 inches). Fully illustrated throughout with 16 tipped in colour plates, pictorial title page, plus 25 full page and 100 smaller line drawings. A hint of browning to the blank endpapers but generally a very clean and bright copy in the original publishers yellow cloth binding with illustration to the front board in red and black. The spine and front board are lettered in black. A little darkening to spine but overall a better than very good copy of this beautiful book. --- Originally published by Constable and Co in 1912, this is the first Hodder and Stoughton edition and it contains all of the illustrations from the earlier edition.
