It is interesting to note that the first copies of the Declaration of Independence and the first paper currency distributed to citizens of the new born nation were also set in Caslon. 228pp. Light blue cloth, spine browned.

New York: Knop, 1938. First edition. An early version of an advance reading copy, unusual as such. Signatures bound in dust jacket trimmed to fit. This copy with "7313" stamped on first blank page (covered by dust jacket). A seemingly charming tale of a young girl and her grandfather, if one leaves out what the dust jacket flap describes as her "ripening into womanhood" .... at 14 years of age. (Involuntary shudder followed by hope the tale is an innocent enough one.) Fragile production, good to very good in pictorial paperwraps.
