(tr) ~ An English evangelical Quaker minister describes a tour through the West Indies (Santa Cruz, Saint Thomas, Antigua, Dominica, Jamaica, Cuba) in 1839/40 in letters addressed to Kentucky. The question of slavery is prominent in the letters slavery being abolished in the British West Indies in 1833. The two engravings are views of Jamaica-Sligoville and Brownstown.
