About This Item
William Heinemann Ltd, 1956. Hardcover. Very Good/No Jacket. Signed. Severn edition. Signed and inscribed in two places by the author's wife, Jessica Brett Young. Her first inscription is written on behalf of her husband thus: "Francis wrote in a rough note book: - 'When I appear in this book it is only when I am so near that I cast a shadow' J.B.Y." Her second inscription is to fellow South African author Catherine Taylor, and reads: "For dear Catherine with love from Jessica Brett Young (and Francis) Sep. 20th 1956". The boards are shelf rubbed and worn, but remain strong and sturdy. Internally, there is light foxing around the edges throughout, but there are no other markings, and the pages within are neat, crisp and complete. The binding is secure. JK. Our orders are shipped using tracked courier delivery services.
