About This Item
"The Man Without a Country" is a story about a man, Phillip Nolan, with a friend, Aaron Burr, who was accused of treachery around 1863. At the trial of his friend, Nolan avowed that he hoped he would never hear the words "the United States of America" again. He was thus doomed to live a secluded life on board a ship amidst the sea and he was never allowed to see, read or hear anything related to "America" again! More Info: en.wikipedia.org
This particular book is a paperback measuring 3.75" w x 5" h. On the inside cover page is a stamp that reads, "William Fox presents, As No Man Has Loved" based on Everett Edward Hale Classic". There seems to be at least 2 pages missing at the front, probably the cover pages. The book starts with the Introduction. There is a "Note" section at the end of the book with question and answers about the story characters, as well as descriptions of places mentioned. There are 2 advertisement pages at the back for other small books, another "The Man Without A Country" and "Old Glory". On the back cover is a copy of the "Battle Hymn of the Republic". The printing on some of the pages tends to fade off the top of the page, almost like the pages were cut unevenly first and then trimmed up.
