Seattle: University of Washington Press, 1948. Hardcover. g. 8vo. ix; 151pp. Decorated green cloth w/dj. Head and tail of spine, edges and corners slightly bumped and rubbed. DJ chipped with a few small tears; top part of the dj is torn off but present. "It is a book which not only clarifies the totem pole enigma but reveals much of the social structure, the hardships and the general philosophy of life of the Indians; and serves as a guidebook to the Mud Bright, Ketchikan, Klawak and Saxman Park totem parks". Illustrated profusely with b&w photographs. With the bookplate of Bruce Bryan, the noted author and long time curator of the Southwest Museum of the American Indians in Pasadena, California and his signature on the free end paper. Overall in good + condition.
