WARMLY INSCRIBED BY KENZABURO OE TO JEAN STEIN (AUTHOR OF "EDIE: AN AMERICAN GIRL"), DECLARING HIS LOVE FOR WILLIAM FAULKNER (WHO JEAN STEIN, FAMOUSLY, WAS INVOLVED WITH AT THE TIME). IN ADDITION, THIS IS COPY #6 OF ONLY 15 ISSUED WITH AN ORIGINAL BOUND-IN SILKSCREEN CREATED AND SIGNED BY OE. An all-but-pristine copy to boot of the genuine 1982 1st edition, published in its native Japanese. A nice example from the canon of this future Nobel Prize winner (1994) and very uncommon as such.
