The Long Day: The Story of a New York Working Girl was first published anonymously in 1905. The author, Dorothy Richardson (not the English author of stream-of-consciousness novels), takes her main character through a number of the employment options available to working-class women in the early 20th century. Inside the New York Telephone Company is a first-hand account by journalist Elinor Langer of the working conditions for women at that company, first published in 1970. In Very Good Condition: slightly rubbed; spine slightly creased; former owner's name on half title page; otherwise, clean and tight.
