About This Item

Chicago: American Colortype Co, 1920. Original Wrappers. Good binding. 3" x 2.5." As issued, in self-wrappers and all housed in publisher's lidded box. Each are 12 pages with four color illustrations and an illustrated cover. Generally in very good condition or nearly so, but a few of the title have some pencil scrawl on the backs or in the margins, Minty's Babies and The Minstrel Queen are complete but the outer leaves are detached and The Builders is lacking the first and last leaf, so the story is incomplete. The box has a minor loss to a part of one side but is solid; pencil scrawl to the cover and light and general soiling.

A remarkably scarce group. Even individual volumes are scarce in commerce. We have been unable to determine if this is complete but suspect based on copyright entries for 1920 that this may have been a series with 30 titles. Though it should be noted this box is conceivably full and could be made to accommodate only a couple additional volumes. These same copyright entries cite Thompson as the author of the four titles listed. OCLC only locates one institution that has 8 of these present 10 volumes. No other holding are noted. Rare.
