'The Lay of the Last Minstrel' was the first poem of his that brought him into the spotlight of the public's eye, establishing him as one of the most popular writers of his time.Lacking the half titles. ound in half calf with marbled boards. Externally, some shelf wear to the boards and rubbing to the joints and extremities. A small amount of loss to the tail of the spine on Volume I. Spine label is partially lacking to Volume III, and may detach with further handling. Previous owner's bookplate to the front pastedown of each volume. Hinges strained to Volume I, otherwise remaining binding firm. Tidemarks to the heads of the front endpapers and tails of the rear endpapers to each volume. Pages contain a few spots, not affecting readability. Good
