This copy of the University of Chicago's second volume of the (two volume) works of Aristotle is in very good condition. Please see four pictures. It is Book 9 of the Britannica Great Books series. (Book 8 is the first volume.)

In poor condition, suitable as a reading copy. No dust jacket. Small 4to. Bound in red leather. Front cover and backstrip detached from book, backcover still attached but in poor condition. Heavy staining and shelf wear on cover. Loose pages possible missing title pages. Some stianing but no major markings. No libary stickers inside. Bumped Corners. No clear date. Oxford: Oxford at The Clarendon Press, 1912 8vo. vii + Preface, pp numbered 698a - 714b + 12pp index. Curiously each page number has an a & b. In original publisher's stiff card covers. As the binding is temporary it is worn round the edges with wear to the backstrip. Bound in sewn signatures. Previous owner's neat signature (JCL Farquharson- pos. brother of the translator) & date (1913) to title page.

Slight cracking to hinges, with exposed netting, pages remain attached. Pages have medium tanning and light foxing throughout. Boards have moderate shelf-wear with bumping to corners and rubbing to surfaces. Light tanning to spine and edges with crushing to spine ends. Splits to spine edges.

Minor foxing and moderate tanning to pages and plates. More prominent to text block edges, pastedowns and free endpapers. Moderate cracking to gutters and hinges, exposing netting causing some looseness to binding but pages remain attached. Boards have minor corner bumping and edgewear with mild tanning and scuffing overall. Spine has light tanning with soft crushing to ends. Book has a slight forward lean.
