This set has 5 color frontisplates, which was unusual in 1904.
Quality paper.
Wide margins. Thick ink.
Low acid paper is not brittle. This set can be read.
Good for the age. Loose. Poor condition. A lot of external generalized shelf wear. A lot of looseness and generalized wear from use. Overextended pages. Loose few pages in volume one. Internal hinge is separated. Old pricing on end paper. Splits. External splits along front hinge volume one Still generally intact and much better than the previous sets I just listed. Hinges strong.
A lot of generalized external abrasions and wear.
Looseness from use.
The paper is good.
Quality low acid rag paper is still fresh and supple. This would be a good reading set.
Set has generalized shelf wear. Signs of use. Some looseness. Extremity abrasion.
These display well on a bookcase.
Set is over 100 years old.
