The raven edition was printed in 1903 and 1904.
This is a first edition set, had no date on the title pages/or dated 1903.
All volumes dated 1903.
This set has 5 color frontisplates, which was unusual in 1904.
Quality paper.
Wide margins. Thick ink.
Low acid paper is not brittle. This set can be read.
Poor condition.
In good condition for the age. Volumes one and two have long splits along the spine extremities, as shown. The spine on volume one is separated on one side cSplits along the spine extremities. A lot of external wear. Frontisplate in volume two is detached and chipping as clearly shown in the pictures. The front hinge has internal separation. No previous owner names. Poor condition. Still an attractive rustic antiquarian set. If condition matters please don't buy this.
A lot of generalized external abrasions and wear.
Looseness from use.
The paper is good.
Quality low acid rag paper is still fresh and supple. This would be a good reading set.
Set has generalized shelf wear. Signs of use. Some looseness. Extremity abrasion.
These display well on a bookcase.
Set is over 100 years old.
Each book will be individually wrapped and well protected for shipping via Priority Mail.
