Francois Rabelais was a French Renaissance writer. Writing in a wide variety literary styles from fantasy, to satire, to songs, Rabelais is considered one of the founding writers of modern European literature. His best known work is Gargantua and Pantagruel. With additional explanatory notes by M. Le du Chat, among others. In quarter calf bindings. Externally, sound with some bumping. Personal bookplate to front pastedown of each volume. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright with scattered spots. Very Good

The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
