Original ornately blind-stamped brown ribbed cloth with gilt centrepiece to upper and lower covers, ornate gilt decorated spines. Text in double columns, profusely illustrated throughout, illustrated title-page to each play. Vol 1: Memoir and Essay, Comedies. Covers scuffed and rubbed, corners bumped, little denting to board edges, tanning to endpapers, spine ends started; Vol. 2: Tragedies. Light denting to board edges, corners bruised, tanning to endpapers, a few light pencil marks on pages 26-36; Vol. 3: Historical Plays, Poems & Sonnets. Covers very lightly soiled, corners bruised, light denting to edges, tanning to endpapers. Overall, a wonderful, bright set in the original gilt decorated cloth.
