P., or, the Blue-Stocking', 'Little's Poems' and 'Odes of Anacreon'.A lovely edition of the poetry of Thomas Moore, (1779-1852), an Irish poet renowned for combining English and Irish tradition in his verse, and less kindly remembered for the role he had in destroying the manuscripts of Lord Byron. His 'Irish Melodies' was his most popular and successful work.With the ownership bookplate of Joseph Radcliffe, Bart.The first volume is illustrated with a frontispiece portrait of Moore. In a full straight grain morocco binding. Externally very smart, with just some slight occasional rubbing to the heads and tails of the spines. Extremities are a touch bumped.
