Houghton Mifflin Company, Boston, 1945. First Edition. Hardcover. G/G. 7 3/4 H x 5 1/4 W x 5/8 inch. NON SMOKING STORE. My listing includes PHOTO OF ACTUAL BOOK for sale. Book Interior GOOD / Boards GOOD / Dust Jacket Good. Book of the Month Selection. Boards are turquoise cloth, lettering red. Book spine is solid, slightly cocked at the bottom, is sunned on top, bottom and side edges, back vertical edge has some old glue residue in spots, spine has minor edge wear and small creases head and heel. Dust jacket is white/brown, lettering white, colour pictorial front and black/white photo on back. Dust jacket is NOT PRICE CLIPPED, has age darkening on edges, folds of flaps and on back cover, dj spine is quite sunned, has small piece missing on bottom dj spine and three small pieces off top, has a 3/8 inch rip in top edge of dj back cover, has a triangular hole in spine and on front dj edge, dj has a few minor rips and edge wear. Book boards are flat, clean, no rips, one bent corner tip, light sunning on all edges of covers, no edge wear. Page edges sunned. Inner end papers are white. Inside of book is tight, clean, bright, clear, flat. Book is over-opened at title page with most of seam torn but cloth binding is not torn and no pages are loose or missing. Some age darkening inside covers. No photos, no illustrations.

I'm very careful in describing my books accurately and I've done so to the best of my ability using the IOBA Book Condition guidelines. All items are from a smoke-free, clean, dry environment. My books are from a large private collection, very well taken care of and rarely handled. All descriptions and photos are of the actual books I'm selling. I'm happy to answer any questions regarding my books, just ask. IMPORTANT RE POSTAGE: I'm in Canada so books to the USA/Other Countries are International shipments and may be delayed by CUSTOMS and/or HOMELAND SECURITY. I'm using the Biblio standard postage matrix, which gives average postage fees, therefore sometimes for an OVERSIZE or LARGE heavy book or expensive book, the postage may be too low and may require extra charges. If I know this in advance, I will notify the buyer before the order is processed.

This is not a huge book warehouse, it is a small one-owner store run by a true book lover. POSSIBLE DELAYS: I'm elderly and disabled and while this usually does not cause a delay in order processing, it sometimes may cause a small delay for me to get to the post office.
