Boston: Houghton Mifflin, 1941. First Edition. Near fine in a very good dust jacket with a moisture stain visible on the interior of the dust jacket, some sunning at spine, and a few small chips. One of Wilson’s most famous works and contains his Hemingway essay entitled “Hemingway: Gauge of Morale” in which Wilson discussed what he felt was Hemingway’s wound in his psyche and to which Hemingway reacted strongly upon reading.
