Slightly smaller book, fine yellow cloth spine and sides, blue boards, black lettering very fine on spine, very tiny creases at bottom front tip, yellow inside covers and adjacent end papers. On first front end paper in blue ink: "Tom--Love & due respect, John." Pencil signature of Tom Clarke of Batavia, New York, Gardner's hometown along pages' bottom edge. DJ glossy beneath mylar, blue with illustration of mosaic face on bottom front, colorful lettering, praise on white back from Stanley Elkin, inside front flap from William Gass. DJ has microtear at top front tip, micronick at bottom front bookfold edge, micronick at top front edge near spine, light wear at spine top edge, tiny surface nick at spine bottom left edge, very tiny tear at bottom back edge. Very Good DJ/Near Very Fine book.
