Description

Great Britain: Osprey History, 2000. Paperback. Yorktown. 1781. Crease to corner back cover. By 1781 Britain's struggle to contain the rebebels in her American colonies had reached an inglorious stalemate. Six years on from the British defeat by the New England militia at Boston, George Washington's rebuilt Continental Army - with support from the French - now systematically began to seek out and destroy British forces even if protected by seemingly impregnable defences. Yorktown would be a salutary demonstration to the British Crown of the odds she now faced in holding on to her colonies. Illustrated. 96 pp. (We carry a wide selection of titles in The Arts, Theology, History, Politics, Social and Physical Sciences. academic and scholarly books and Modern First Editions, Reference books ,and all types of Academic Literature.). Reprint. Soft Cover. Very Good. Illus. by Adam Hook. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" Tall Octavo. Paperback.
