About This Item

[No place]: Greenleaf Classics, Inc., 1966 160 pages. This novel by Scottish author Alexander Trocchi has a peculiar publishing history, which helps explain why this first American edition from 1966 is advertised as the "French banned sex classic" on the front cover. It was first published in France in 1954 by the Olympia Press under the Frances Lengel pen name. When it was published in England by Heinemann in 1961 it was under the author's own name. This first American edition is "by Frances Lengel" but also uses the author's own name inside. A lovely, nearly fine copy of this book and scarce thus. Basis for the 2003 film starring Tilda Swinton and Ewan McGregor.. First American Edition.. Paperback. Near Fine.
