There is a moderately sized bump to the foot of the spine, but otherwise, the binding is tight and solid, the edges of the boards are sharp, with no soiling. Doris Byer, Historikerin, Schriftstellerin. 1966 Mag. art., Hochschule fur Angewandte Kunst; 1980-1986 Studium der Geschichte und Ethnologie, Universitat Wien. 1996 interfakultative Habilitation fur Historische Anthropologie. Forschung, Lehre und zahlreiche Publikationen zur Geschichte der Anthropologie, zu Rassismus, Migration und Wandel in postkolonialen Gesellschaften. Sie lebte und arbeitete in Jamaica, auf den Salomon-Inseln, in Marokko, Frankreich, Mali und immer wieder Wien. (Zur Zeit arbeitet sie zur Geschichte einer afro-europaischen Familie uber vier Generationen.) Letzte Publikationen: 2004, Essaouira, endlich. 2007, "Zur Anthropologie des Reisens und zur Geschichte der Entwicklungstheorie." In: Tourismus in der "Dritten Welt."
