Description:
Signed by Cormac McCarthy.
Every collector of the works of Cormac McCarthy knows the story - Cormac said he would not sign any copies of his Pulitzer prize winner The Road except for some that he had saved for his son, John. However, he did sign a very small number of bookplates which were supplied by the author's UK agent at the time of publication for distribution to major book stores.
This is the only legitimate signed version of The Road other than the few copies held by John McCarthy which have never been offered for sale. An extremely rare and sought-after item that will only gain in value over the years.

The book is an excellent copy in a fine dustjacket. Signed to a bookplate pasted on the title page. Mylar protected and cased in a quarter Morocco, custom-made, clamshell presentation box. A magnificent way to store what will be the prize item in your Cormac McCarthy collection.

Signed by Cormac McCarthy via the authorized, official Picador bookplate on the title-page. Bookplate measures… Read More

Description:
The UK publisher's proof of Cormac McCarthy's stunning Pulitzer Prize winner.
The UK proof with its white covers is very prone to getting dirty and creased, and there were very few copies issued. This makes finding a clean, near fine copy a difficult task. But look no further - this copy has only a tiny amount of discolouring around the edges and is in better condition that any other copy I've seen. The only real flaw is a crease on the back cover. The page block is tight and appears unread. A great copy for a quality collection.

Description:
McCarthy, Cormac. The Road . New York: Alfred A. Knopf, 2006. 8vo., original printed blue wrappers over jacket cover. Uncorrected proof. A fine copy of the author's Pulitzer prize winning novel. McCarthy considered this work among his most personal. It is the story of a father and son struggling to survive in a post apocalyptic world gone made which McCarthy dedicated to his own son John (who was around 8 at the time of publication). Though published late in McCarthy's career, Knopf appears to have distributed very few copies of this proof (perhaps to curtail their appearance on the market before the book's publication) and they are now scarce. .
