Adam and Charles Black, London, 1904. First Edition. Hardcover. Fair Condition/No Dust Jacket. Signed by Author. No. 188 of the Edition De Luxe which was Limited to Two Hundred Copies. Signed under this by author. Darkened cream covers with black decoration and gilt lettering, wear to corners and spine-ends, split in cloth over rear external joint and across the spine about midway between the top and lower edges, paper over inner hinges split showing webbing, foxing to end-papers and prelims and occasionally elsewhere, foxing to the fold-out map at rear, small purple stamps for Public Library Barrow throughout with a library plate and large black stamp at the front. Edition De Luxe limited to 200 copies. Contains many colour plates. No dust-jacket. Previous owner's book-plate laid in. Gilt upper text-block edge.. Ex-library copy with stamps and labels.
