Sharp First Edition, First Issue of this classic with all required points, (gap between "Y" and "e" in "Years" on page 4, line 8 and missing "l" from "goldenrod" on page 169). Bound in light brown illustrated paper-covered boards with a tan back-strip with titles in gilt. Square, tight and clean throughout with off-white unfoxed pages. Mild edge-wear. Some scattered spots of soiling to edges and surface but fairly minor. Spine gilt dulled. Still very well preserved with strong joints. Beautiful longer presentation by Morley on the front end-paper, "This is E.A. Lapham's copy, and signed for him with respects from Christopher Morley. 47 Street - Nov. 24, 1939".
