Probably never used. The dust jacket has rubbing at spine ends, no tears, no chips. The book measures 223mm tall x 140mm, and has 199 page, 52 b/w photos, 2 maps, EP map, index. Account of Hillary's 1960 Makalu expedition, experimenting & climbing without supplemental oxygen. Author suffered severe frostbite after experiencing a blood clot in his lung. Author, Nevison, & Sherpa Annulu came within 400 feet of the summit before the author was stricken by pulmonary thrombosis. Interesting chapters on the hell of surviving frostbite and amputations.
