Boston: Houghton Mifflin, 1975. This First Printing, with the requisite "number line" ending with a "1", is in close to Fine condition, with a Very Good unclipped dust jacket (click on photo). The book is bound in a brick cloth with metallic blue lettering on front panel and spine. The binding is tight and the pages are clean and sparkling throughout. The book does have a former owner's name on the front pink endpaper. (Perhaps, the pink endpapers were a homage to the subject, since Jayne Mansfield's favorite color was pink.) This fascinating biography not only traces the life of a woman desperate to be a movie star sex goddess, but explores as well the attitudes toward women and sex in the 1950s and 1960s.
