New York, 1832. Original cloth and paper spine label, front hinge starting. Lithographs frontis, on single page: Fort Amsterdam Village 1623; New York 13 plates on 10 full pages [including frontis]. A bit shaken, scattered light foxing, front hinge starting. Good+. Larned calls the book "generally authentic," and that "Some valuable and interesting notices of Dutch and early English life in New York City and Albany appear here, also life-like portrayals of the experiences of pioneers in western New York. Many details as to dress, furniture, marriage customs, also many extracts from advertisements in old newspapers are given." And, it has a chapter on the Erie Canal.
