Bound in publisher's orange cloth, titles in black with black rule to upper board, black titles and publisher's imprint to spine, repeat imprint to lower board. Internally clean, with some spotting to prelims, page edges toned, Royal Navy stamps to pastedown (Petty Officer's mess library), no other stamps. Covers generally clean and bright. An attractive example. Focusing on the romantic escapades of the Earl of Droitwich, Anthony Brice, whose life is turned topsy-turvy when his nanny pays him a visit.

Garden City, NY: Doubleday, Doran and Company, Inc., 1931. [Humour] FIRST EDITION. This edition preceding the UK publication. Octavo (20 x 14cm), pp.[vi]; 305; [I] blank. Publisher's orange cloth titled in brown to spine and upper board, pictorial dust-jacket drawn by Henrietta Starrett, with printed price of $2.00. Endpapers lightly toned otherwise internally bright and clean, faint erased inscription to rear free endpaper. Cloth lightly handled. Dust-jacket worn with numerous tears and quite a lot of loss. A near fine copy in a good wrapper. Focusing on the romantic escapades of the Earl of Droitwich, Anthony Brice, whose life is turned topsy-turvy when his nanny pays him a visit. Before the publication of this novel in book form, it was released in four instalments in 'The American Magazine'.
