Typescript preceeding first edition. 2002. Howard Barker's play printed on one side of A4 sheets, sent to Arnold Wesker for his opinion, together with a copy of a letter from Arnold to Jean Michel Ribes, the director of one of Paris' biggest theatres, Theatre du Rond-Point. In the letter Wesker admits he found the play very difficult and says that, if he, Wesker, were running a theatre, with Barker's track record he would still offer him the theatre space to put it on. Both play and letter housed in yellow card folder.

Over 50 years of wonderful dinners! With love and thanks for so many things, apart from food. Mike." A very clean copy in wrapper that is very worn to top edge and corners. Robin Dalton lived to 101 and had an extraordinary life and career. As a literary agent she represented Edna O'Brien, John Osborne, Iris Murdoch, Ben Travers, George Orwell, Margaret Drabble, B. S. Johnson, Bernice Rubens and many more. She also produced films, spied for Thai Government and for over five years dated the cousin and best man of Prince Philip. Born in Australia, she spent most of her adult life in London, surfed until she was 96 and went on entertaining people of all ages in her luxurious Hampstead flat until she died.

Ownership signature of Diana Vernon who also acted in the tour. Board margins lightly mottled, spine sunned and rear board lightly soiled. Inner hinge visible o/w the contents are clean and sound. A lovely association copy.
