Bound in black cloth, spine lettering gilt over red, light bumping to lower edges, a very good copy in a good dust jacket with rubbing and tears to front panel, chipping to spine.

Indianapolis; (1898): The Bobbs-Merrill Co. 12mo. 196pp., bound in red cloth, titled and single ruled in gilt, decorative gilt spine, top edge gilt. A tiny wrinkle in the cloth on upper board otherwise a fine bright copy in very good dust jacket with chipping to spine ends and corners and a few small chips to bottom edge. Scarce is such nice condition.

Folio. # 1638 of 2500 numbered portfolios printed in France on Mandeure paper, signed in pencil on the titlepage by Salvadore Dali and includes 12 color woodcut remarque illustrations. One original color etching signed in the plate, contents loose as issued in gilt-lettered cloth chemise housed within a 1/4 morocco over beige cloth clamshell, spine lettering gilt, with bone and morocco clasp. As new in original inner portion of the original shipping box and wrapped in the original paper each with their corresponding numbers of this particular issue. A remarkabley beautiful copy.

New York: Alfred A. Knopf, 1930. Limited Edition. Tall Octavo. Limited to 850 copies. The present copy is number 904. Mansfield destroyed more than 3/4 of her manuscripts. She kept only those she attached importance to, especially for future works. The greater part of the Aloe, after much reshaping was incorporated into Prelude in 1917. But, the Aloe contains much material that was not used as readers familiar with Prelude will quickly discover. A fine bright copy bound in dark gray-green paper covered boards, paper spine label, in plain dust jacket with small chip to lower edge of front panel and head of spine, housed in publisher's slipcase with paper label. Only minor wear to slip case.

Boston; 1834-1837: Ball and Marshal; John L. Sibly and Benjamin H. Greene, and William D. Ticknor. Small quarto. This comprises all three volumes, each in the original monthly parts fully illustrated throughout.. Volume I: 536 pages (Sept. 1834-August 1835). Voluime II: 520 pages (Sept. 1835--Aug. 1836) and Volume III, 486 pages (Oct. 1836-Sept. 1837). The publisher in 1836 gave Nathaniel Hawthorne his first job as an editor (though he was unnamed in the volumes and also unpaid). What is of particular interest to Hawthorne scholars begins in Volume II, pages 395-397 where Hawthorne has written: "The Duston Family". His account shows he knew Cotton Mather's Magnalia so he used that along with Peter Parley's Method of Telling About History and R.I. Munchk's The History of Haverhill, Massachusetts. Eliot who analyzes To a Coy Mistress as a masterpiece of both wit and great imaginative power. While the youthful college student appreciates the sexual images of the lady's denial of sex, the literary masters see a remarkable poem that transcends the world of the fleshly mind. A fine copy bound in blue cloth, spine lettering gilt, in a very nice dust jacket with a couple of tiny chips to head and lower edge of front panel, a large chip to spine at lower joint.
