New York: Self-Published, 1939. Cloth. Near Fine. INSCRIBED BY HENRY DREYFUSS on the front free endpaper. A very solid copy to boot of the 1939 1st edition. Clean and Near Fine in its russet cloth, with bright gilt-titling along the front panel and spine. Octavo, lavishly illustrated throughout in rich black-and-white photos. Wonderful look at the 1930s through the lens of legendary industrial designer Henry Dreyfuss.

New York: The A.D. Gallery, 1947. Loose sheets. Near Fine. The uncommoon catalogue based on the March-May 1947 exhibition at New York's A.D. Gallery. As introduced on the title page, "The directors of A.D. Gallery take pleasue in presenting Paul Rand in an exhibition of his designs on view from March 31st through May 29th, 1947". Along with a stapled booklet introducing the catalogue, 24 loose black-and-white plates (as issued) of some of Rand's iconic work are contained in a dark, string-tied, card chemise designed by Paul Rand himself. The 24 plates are all in immaculate condition, the chemise shows a bit of wear along the edges and one chip at the front panel. The original string is present and nicely holds the miniature catalogue (the 64mo) together. An ephemeral, early Paul Rand piece.

New York: Whittlesey House (McGraw-Hill), 1936. Decorative Cloth. Very Good +. A sharp, very presentable copy of the 1936 1st edition. Tight and VG+ in its dark cloth, with bright, unrubbed silver-titling along the front panel and spine. Very light blotching at the rear panel, otherwise clean as could be. Internally, free of any markings or writing as well. Octavo, showcases the work of giants in the field such as Otto Kuhler, Norman Bel Geddes, Raymond Loewy, Henry Dreyfuss, Frederick Kiesler, Eleanor LeMaire, Russel Wright, etc.

Clean and Near Fine in its dark boards, with bright, unrubbed titling at the front panel and spine. Thick octavo, generous black-and-white photographs throughout.

Tallamy, Superintendent of the New York State Department of Public Works.

Peoria, IL: The Manual Arts Press, 1937. Cloth. Very Good/Very Good. The 1937 1st edition, IN ITS UNCOMMON SILVER DUSTJACKET. Solid and VG (front inner hinge lightly broken, binding still very sturdy though) in a bright, price-clipped, VG dustjacket, with moderate chipping (and loss) at the spine ends and the front tips, and light chipping and creasing along the panel edges. Still though, very presentable. Octavo, 24 plates throughout complementing William Varnum's text.

The portfolio represents an annual report, in this case 1968, assuring wildly creative, imaginatve ideas in design. 26 separate design plans all told, in each case the designer is highlighted and the design itself formally titled in the presentation. 1971. 1st. Decorative Cloth. Collectible; Fine. Beautiful 1971 study of the design patterns of Japan's Heian Period (795-1100 AD). Clean and Near Fine in its very attractive silver and blue checkered cloth. Folio, roughly 80 lavish tipped-in plates (with accompanying Japanese text) in rich, vivid color. Both the book and its interior are in pristine condition. This copy also includes a bright, Near Fine example of the publisher's box, which has its matching, silver and blue checkered cloth. A lovely production.

Clean and VG+ in its navy-blue boards, with bright gilt-titling along the spine. And in a crisp, VG to VG+ dustjacket, with neatly-applied clear tape inconspicuously reinforcing the inside of the dustjacket and several closed tears along the panel edges. Thick quarto, 50 crisp black-and-white plates and 177 figures (mostly hospital plans) complementing Ronald Ward's text.
