The New York City Symphony, 1946. Near Fine. A nice example of New York City Symphony history -- and a wonderful piece of very early Leonard Bernstein ephemera. The original flyer announcing the 1946 Fall series ("10 consecutive Monday evening concerts/Tuesday evening concerts --September 23 to November 26"), with a prominent photo of the new Music Director of the New York City Symphony, a baby-faced, 28 year old Leonard Bernstein, who held this position from 1945-1947. The flyer has held up very nicely: crisp, clean and Near Fine, with vivid black and red titling offsetting the white backdrop. The flyer measures 9" tall x 6" wide and is well-protected in its archival plastic sleeve.

New York: Columbia Graphophone Company. Original Wraps. Collectible; Very Good. First Thus. 3 Columbia Records monthly catalogues, issued in Oct. of 1919 and April and May of 1920. Each is clean and Near Fine in its stapled, pictorial wrappers. 16mos, 20+ pgs. to each plus photographs thruout. Vintage, tasteful home furnising stamp at the rear panel of each catalogue.

Union Bank, 1972. Paper. Very Good +. 90 separare business checks from infamous music producer Phil Spector (1939-2021). All spanning 1972-1973, all made out either to George Brand (Spector's estate manager and confidante until their falling-out) or to "Cash". All crisp and sharp, all typed, stamped and wildly signed by Spector himself. A nice piece of music ephemera and dark Hollywood ephemera.

New York: Greenberg, 1927. Cloth. Very Good/Very Good -. A solid, very presentable copy of the uncommon 1927 1st edition, IN ITS SCARCE DUSTJACKET. Tight and VG+ to Near Fine in a crisp, bright, VG+ dustjacket, with several very small closed tears and a touch of mild chipping at the tips. Quarto, compiled by Ethel Park Richardson, edited and arranged by the formidable Sigmund Spaeth. "The songs are arranged in four groups: I: Ballads -- Americanized and American; II: Lonesome and Love Tunes; III: Spirituals; and IV: Nonsense Songs"

Minneapolis, 2002. Decorative Boards. Fine. The uncommon deluxe limited edition of the 2002 stated 1st edition. limited to only 50 copies. Clean and Near Fine to Fine in its blue boards, with bright gilt-design and titling along the front panel. Pasted-on genuine signatures of the author, Zachary Fjestad, and the editor/publisher, S.P. Fjestad, on the front free endpaper. A tiny bit of bumping along the front panel's upper tip, otherwise pristine. Quarto, dozens and dozens of black-and-white photos of the various amplifiers, all with informative captions and values.

Kassel, Germany: Barenreiter-Verlag, 1962. 1st. Cloth. Collectible; Very Good/Very Good. The entire collection of Mozart's letters and diaries, complete in 7 Volumes. All 7 Volumes 1st editions, 1962-1975. Each volume still tightly-bound and clean and VG in bright, VG dustjackets with modest, forgivable chipping along the spine extremities of several of the volumes and several minor closed tears to one or two of the volumes. Nonetheless, a handsome, well-preserved set. Thick octavos, over 4,200 pgs. all told. The text in its native German.

London: Butterworths Scientific Publications, 1957. 1st. Cloth. Collectible; Very Good. 1957 1st edition of this attractive 2 volume set. Both volumes clean and VG+ in their original red cloth with bright gilt-lettering to the spines. Quartos, 1,178 pgs. all told. "A record of the holdings of over one hundred libraries throughout the British Isles"

Wonderful 1928 catalogue from the Buescher Band Instrument Company of Elkhart, Indiana, showcasing the latest offerings in their impressive selection of band and orchestra instruments. Virtually every page includes detailed engraved images of Buescher's selections, such as soprano, alto, tenor and bass saxophones, true-tone, symphony, utility and parlor and Sunday school trumpets, Fluegel, coach, popular ballad and true-tone French horns, tenor and alto valve, small and medium and large bore slide trombones, various strands of baritones, basses, woodwind instruments, etc. A vast range, all beautifully illustrated. Ephemera. Very Good. *****A DEEP, VARIED COLLECTION FROM THE GOLDEN AGE OF SAN FRANCISCO ROCK, 1966-1971*****. Focused mostly on Chet Helms (and the Avalon Ballroom) and Bill Graham (and his Fillmore West). Includes over 90 handbills and flyers AND almost 50 posters from the period. The collection was accidentally built -- with no forethought behind it. It resulted simply from one young, active music lover who hit the clubs and liked pulling handbills, flyers and announcements off telephone poles and bulletin boards. The condition, which runs the gamut from Near Fine to truly rough, reflects the natural, unself-conscious way in which this young guy gathered up so much material. An unusually large, high-quality collection. Clearly, needs to be seen.
