Presumed first edition, no edition given. This copy is VG+ in a VG, unclipped ( No price) DJ. Exterior is bright and clean with only a hint of edge wear. A 1/2 " sun darkened area at top of spine where a corresponding DJ open tear did not cover as well as a tiny chip to the fabric on the top/back/ center edge. Otherwise, pristine. Inside is unmarked, clear, and tightly bound. PO gift inscription dated 1943 on FEP. Other illustrators include Thelma Gooch, Dick Hartley, L.Kirby Parrish, Gladys Hall, Lucy Renouf , and M.Morris. DJ has that 1/2 " open tear and moderate other edge wear, and a tape repaired ( from the inside) 4" open tear , now only subtlely evident.
