Los Angeles: AIDS Healthcare Foundation, 2002. Magazine. 28p., 8.5x11 inches, profusely illustrated with color and b&w photos, graphs, figures, tables, reports, very good glossy report/brochure in stapled pictorial wraps.

Danville VT: The American Society of Dowsers, Inc, as shown. Magazine. Average length, 50 to 72 pages. The lot from a single source partly by subscription, partly scrounging, all in very good condition: exterior damage confined to staple-holes next covers' fore-edge margin, tiny smudges, mild damp-ripple to back cover of a singleton, and a few trivial adhesion scars. Within, we flipped through and saw no soil or ownership marks (let alone institutional marks). As stated, a very good run of 63 unduplicated issues.

Garden City: Garden City Publishing Co., Inc, 1946. Hardcover. Reprint of the Houghton edition, first Garden City issue; 249p., thickly illustrated with four large photosections well-reproduced (and listed with captions), hardbound in brown cloth boards lettered in dark green, top edge tinted green, and enclosed in the dust jacket. These stills are great, Osa and husband were people persons. Movie-films also were taken, which were shown to paying audiences in Australia to keep up the Johnsons' finances. The book itself bears a dealer's penciled note, and, laid-in, a very acidic slip with handwritten Johnson titles - this slip has badly toned adjacent leaves but we've left it in. The dust jacket is quite edgeworn and has an eyesore of a sticker scar that affects cover titling. Otherwise sound, clean and unmarked.

Five paperback programs, various pagination, 4x8.5 inch uprights; general information, daily events and workshops, local maps and services, resources etc., some markings from previous owner otherwise good in pictorial wraps. Programs include 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007 & 2009 (missing only the 15th) Conferences were held in San FranciscoBoston, Denver, Los Angeles, and Montreal.

American Lecture Series, Publication No. 277., American Lectures in Chest Diseases. Bookplate and signature of pioneer in nuclear medicine and cancer research, John H. Lawrence. One copy in OCLC 12/10/2021.

Excerpt and publicity for a new book about sickness, disease, hospitals, doctors, learning to walk, love, cripples, anger, rage, love, basket-cases, Spain, escape, gay love in the US in 1959 etc etc. Three pages of text from the book, rear page order form.

Hancock, NH: Wayne Green, 2002. Pamphlet. 16p., 5.5x8.5 inch wraps; date penciled on the front page, in very good condition. Zine is a reprint from an email sent by Nancy Markle to the publisher.

Washington DC: Board of Temperance, Prohibition and Public Morals of the Methodist Episcopal Church, nd. Handbill. Double-sided 3x6 inch handbill; in very good condition. Discusses tobacco blindness and lung disease caused by smoking tobacco. No. 89.

Paris: H. Martinet, 1938. Pamphlet. 46p., alkaline matte paperstock with several high-gloss color inserts also alkaline, softbound in 12x9.5 inch pastel-blue wraps titled in white and dark green. One plate is tissue-guarded; an elaborate production. Somewhat edgeworn with a small but nasty little bump to low corner affecting every leaf, otherwise sound, and entirely clean and unmarked within. A good to very good copy of an item notable for its excellent X-ray reproductions in undersea green, and its peculiar popular ads, described below. The numerous X-rays are tinted rotogravures, usually half- and quarter-page, some with explanatory diagramming & overprinting. We have seen many reproductions of X-rays and like these best. The tissue'd plate shows a box of suppositories (you'll agree how impressive). Find four fullpage product ads (including the suppository one) also in greenish rotogravure, as are the portraits of contributing authors. Bloomington, IN: Erin Tobey, [201-]. Four-panel 5.5x8.5 inch zine, with a centerfold insert giving directions to "make your own panty pad." Discusses toxic shock syndrome and other issues.

New York: Birdcage Bottom Books, 2023. Pamphlet. Color comix panels throughout, beautifully printed, unpaginated (about thirty pages), zine format in 8.5x5.5 inch stapled glossy alkaline paperstock. Near-new condition, though find a little residue on the back cover from label removal, and weakly-turned corner-tips to a few leaves inside. Narrator is drawn with African American characteristics; nothing is made of this either way, white or Black, he's just "an American" getting sick on junk food and stimulants.

Hardbound in 9.5x6.5 inch orange cloth boards spine-titled brown. About fine: perfectly sound, and absent any soil or markings.

Hardcover. lviii, 347p., no illustrations save for the inappropriate "superhero" image drawn for the dust jacket; hardbound in white buckram titled black and enclosed in the dust jacket. Slight edgewear to the jacket, an else near-new copy: quite sound, clean and unmarked.

Hardcover. xix, 460p., personalities, introduction, postscript, sources and references, index, illustrated with a glossy b&w photo section, very good first US edition, first printing stated in boards and unclipped dj. A section on AIDS and the relation to TB and Africa.

Nottingham: Spokesman at the Russell Press, 1977. Paperback. 73p., 4.75x7.25 inches, illustrated with figures and maps, very good first paperback edition in slim, pictorial wraps. Two essays on the dangers of nuclear power, the Soviet essay speaking of the radioactive wasteland between two Ural cities, Cheliabinsk and Sverdlovsk.

New York: Health/PAC, 1981. Magazine. 32p., magazine in 11x8.5 inch self-wraps, printed sepia (text & illustrations both) on matte alkaline paperstock. Covers soiled with a large splash-stain to front and flecks and smudges to rear, and further soil of the same nature to leaves adjacent to covers. P.14 has lines of ink underlines, staples are rusted with a touch of migration. A fair to good exemplar, reading copy.
