Grinnell: Grinnell College Press, 2012. Paperback. 112p., paperback, 5.5x8 inches, very good. Only one copy found in OCLC as of June 2022. Collection of poetry published by a senior at Grinnell. Name given as Jumi Bello on spine. Bello's debut novel, The Leaving, was scheduled for release in July 2022 but was pulled by the publisher in February after she admitted plagiarizing other work. A later statement by the author owning up to this was subsequently retracted after this too was found to contain plagiarism.

Iowa City: the tabloid, 1973. Newspaper. 4p., common tabloid format (double-fold, a 17x11 inch page) but beginner's work and quite abbreviated (single folded folio leaf); text is reproduced from typewriter-set mss, the few cartoons amateur. Toned, a very good copy. Cover headlines runs "Investigation yields Ottens suspect" [murder]; "Who rules the trailer court rulers" (mobile home despots). Inside find rumors about school board, about women on the local baseball team, and the ending of the military draft. Banner includes a definition: "caltrop - an ancient military device with four prongs one of which is always straight up." The aforementioned murder investigation involves a white female victim, two African American male suspects; and difficulty sorting out the clues. Cedar Rapids, IA: Writers' Club of Coe College, 1929. Pamphlet. 24 pp., illustrations, wraps. 8.25 x 4.5 in. Includes ads for local businesses. Covers soiled; edge wear. Poetry by students and alumni of Coe College. Paul Engle, then a sophomore at Coe, was assistant editor, and this issue includes his cycle of sonnets "Better than Granite." Predates the author's first book by three years. Engle was the director of the Iowa Writers' Workshop from 1941-1965 and made considerable contributions to its prestige and reputation. Scarce; only two locations for this serial in WorldCat as of May 2023 (both in Iowa).

Davenport, Iowa: Columnas, 1971. Newsletter. 17p., 8.5x14 inch sheets stapled at corner, horizontal fold crease, minor toning and edgewear, some pen underlining. The volume number has been crossed out with pencil and replaced with 1. Most of this issue is devoted to discussion of a Raza Unida conference in Davenport, with discussion of the organization's history. Front cover is a poem signed Abelardo, titled La Raza.

Cedar Falls IA: Dannevirke''s Trykkeri, 1921. Hardcover. 120p., printed on semi-alkaline glazed stock and furnished with scattered period photographs. A binder's error has allowed the staplebound textblock to partially separate from its casing, causing unsightly tears in the titlepage; paper bears occasional flecks of foxing; the flexible oilcloth casing, 10.5x7.5 inches, is worn at head, tail and corner-tips. Good (good-only) copy.
